Nothing says “Holidays” like a glittering display of lights to celebrate the season. From Christmas trees peeking out through neighborhood windows, to entire yards illuminated with festive displays, one of our favorite things to do during the holidays is to drive around viewing all of the gorgeous lights.
But if you’re looking for something extra-special this year, why not head out to one of Maryland’s popular holiday light displays? Most charge by the car, so grab a few friends to split the cost – it’ll be well worth the drive!
Here are 5 spectacular lights displays just a short drive from Pasadena:
November 17 – January 4, 6-10 p.m.
Soak up more than 75 animated and stationary holiday lights in this fun, drive-through display. Proceeds benefit the Howard County General Hospital.
November 22 – January 1, 5-10 p.m.
This annual show features more than 50 light displays along the scenic Chesapeake Bay. The holiday lights are sponsored by the Anne Arundel Medical Center.
November 28 – January 1, 5-9:30 p.m.
This year’s festival is packed with brand-new displays and features more than one million – that’s right, one million! – twinkling lights.
November 29 – January 1, 5-11 p.m.
Head up to Baltimore to see a city block of lights you won’t believe. The display features rowhouses with strings of lights, inflatable holiday figures, and blinking angels. Baltimore City
November 28 – December 31, 6-9 p.m. (10 p.m. weekends)
Drive by more than 380 illuminated vignettes and 65 animated displays in a 3.5 mile drive through Seneca Creek State Park. The displays have cute themes, including Winter Woods, Teddy Bear Land, Victorian Village, North Pole, Toyland, and Penguin Cove.
