From Jan. 23-25, residents of Maryland are taking a freezing-cold dip in the Chesapeake Bay for a good cause! The Maryland Polar Bear Plunge, which is really a series of Polar Plunges, caters to all people looking to make a difference. The event begins with the “Cool Schools” plunge on Jan. 23. Teachers, students, and coaches can all take the plunge by either paying or fundraising $50. Next comes the “Police Plunge” and the “Corporate Plunge” on Jan. 24. The Police Plunge is running from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the Corporate Plunge is from 1-5 p.m. Participation in either of these plunges will cost $75.
Lastly, of course, is the main event: The Maryland Plunge. This is when anyone can participate for $75. This event runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will be a day full of fun. There will be several different plunge times for different teams. Guests who are not plunging are welcome to relax in the heated Ice Lodge.
